The Las Vegas Hilton is a casino and hotel with aspirations to greater things - after Starlight Express closed, it opened and still hosts 'Star Trek: The Experience', although the theatre is still apparently empty. The show played there for just over four years and is still fondly remembered by many, despite its short length (pointless anecdote - my friend's piano teacher once told her she had seen Starlight Express two and a half times - that is, twice in London and once in Las Vegas). |

The theatre had no dress circle, so the racetrack ran round the back of the stalls and had two loops through the audience. The set was based on the US Tour set, so the bridge was rectangular instead of the semicircle in London and Bochum. The show, apart from its short length, was very similar to the current London show, and most of the productions after 1993 were based on it. Useless facts - Steven Micheal Skeels was the first Rusty in both Las Vegas and Bochum, and Reva Rice was the first Pearl in Las Vegas, New York, the US/Canadian tour and also in the 'New Starlight Express' in London in 1992.
