George Cooper

Mary Ann West

Problem was to find George's birth certificate.
1871 Census age 9
1881 Census  age 21, 20 Hanover Terrace, S. Marylebone, London
Marriage 1 Jan 1887 age 24 to Mary Ann West
1901 census age 39
1 Jan 1943 age 80
'GC 61 in 21' - birthday book

Taking a bit of a stab in the dark from the 1881 census a suitable family was located and the birth certificate of George's brother, Edwin, was obtained
Eventually George's birth was found in December quarter 1861 under 'Norwick' (Warwick) - one of the first references noted.

1881 age 22, 20 Hanover Terrace, S. Marylebone, London
Marriage 1  Jan 1887 age 29 to George Cooper
Died 25 November 1887 age 29
The problem seems to be that George was younger than his intended so he put a few years on.
By the time of his third wife (and sister of Mary Ann) it wasn't important.

William Knight

1841 at Horley age 13, not born Surrey
1851 at Charlwood age 23, born Horley
1861 at Charlwood age 34, born Horne
1871 at Charlwood age 43, born Worth
1881 Charlwood age 52, born Worth
1891 Charlwood age 65, born Charlwood
1901 Charlwood age 72, born Worth

All the parishes were searched and together with the family at census a baptism at Worth on 23rd December 1827 seems to be it.
